RIS’s FAD Performers Once Again Blow The Crowd Away

RIS’s FAD Performers Once Again Blow The Crowd Away

FAD, also known as Fine Arts Day, is an annual event at Roosevelt, where students can showcase their wondrous talents for the whole school to see. The performers demonstrate a variety of talents such as Singing, Dancing, Acting, Playing Instruments, and more. This year, Fine Arts Day had an exceptional lineup with many acts that blew the crowd away.

One act that thrilled the audience was Student Council President Manny Sanchez’s version of God’s Plan by Drake. His performance had the crowd really hype up, and everyone enjoyed it as they sang along to the popular song. Another outstanding act featured Alex Lerner singing Flowers by Miley Cyrus. She had the crowd clapping in unison and in excellent spirits throughout her performance. Other fan favorites included: Jonathan Yeo, Piper Moscowitz, Audrey Kocaj, Gabriel Garfield, all of our school bands and orchestras, and of course the surprise teacher’s performance when they sang Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker.

Throughout the day, students and staff were kept entertained by the talented performers, and when asked about the acts 8th grader Nick Mora said, “I liked Jonathan Yeo’s Super Smash Bros theme. It was awesome to watch.” While Beckett Lick added, “My favorite act was by far the angry wife monologue. She really brought the character to life in the monologue.” Ben Denier added that Audrey Kocaj had outstanding piano and singing performances, and Bobby Dragon made it known that his favorite performance was Champagne Problems, performed by Ella Hartz.

This year’s Fine Arts Day was like no other, especially since there were tons of performers across all three grades.  From start to finish, everyone who took the stage was amazing, and it was a wonderful way to spend a spring Friday in school.
