There are many things you don’t know about your friends here at Roosevelt. We bet you didn’t know the person sitting next to you could have a hidden talent – like being double-jointed to shaking their eyes, some people are secretly talented. Sometimes these talents occurred after a surgery, but most of the talents their bodies can do naturally.
So read on and be surprised at what your classmates can do!
Rebecca Smith, 6th grade, is so double-jointed that she can twist her thumb all the way around and backwards! It’s not what you’re expecting. She’ll blow your mind if you see it.
Adam Kiyko, a 7th grader, can make smoke come out of his mouth! If you ask him to blow smoke, he can do it in 1 minute. If he were an animal, he’d surely be a dragon. We don’t know how he could do it, but he did it on the spot for us.
Vanessa Norton, 8th grade, has a pretty random talent. She can tie a knot in the stem of a cherry inside her mouth! She doesn’t even need to use her hands. She must be pretty good at tying her shoes, hopefully not with her tongue.
Did you even know your tongue can be flipped around? Well, we didn’t, but Phoebe Crooks, 6th grade, can. On the spot, she can flip her whole tongue around. How is this even possible?
There are many flexible people, but this is a type of flexibility you don’t see every day. Reid Poller, 7th grade, can bend himself backwards in a way you probably haven’t seen many times. We don’t understand how that doesn’t hurt his back.
Now it’s pretty common that people can cross their eyes, but have you seen someone who can cross ONE eye at a time? Well, Ani Najarian, 8th grade, can. It’s truly insane how she can cross one eye so extremely, with the other one staying completely normal! I wonder what the eye sees from her perspective!
There are even more hidden talents about eyes. JP Fitzpatrick, 6th grade, can’t just roll his eyes to the back of his head, but he can keep them there for a very long period of time. If you ask him to roll his eyes back, he can do it and doesn’t even stop.
Eyden Henry, 7th grade, can make his hands click on command. What we mean by that is he snaps in a weird form that can make a crazy sound, not like how snapping sounds. It sounds like a very loud clicking, but he uses only his hands.
People can hula hoop, but Madison Schafer, 8th grader, can do something most people can’t. She can hula hoop on most parts of her body. She can hula hoop on her arms, ankles, hips, and even her neck!
8th grader Luke Hansen can turn his face bright purple. You may be thinking he makes it a tiny bit red or purple the same way people’s faces get while running, but this was different. Give him one minute, and he can make it the actual color purple, his whole entire face. We’re not even sure if it’s safe … .so don’t try at home!
Now, some people have very good impressions of other people or things, but this was a next-level talent. Oliver Calegari, 7th grade, can sound identical to Woody Woodpecker. If you closed your eyes and he made the impression, you would believe it was Woody Woodpecker. If that movie needed a new voice-over, Oliver could do it easily.
Did you even know people can move their ears? Well, Ella Simms, 8th grade, can. You might think that’s very simple, but try moving your ears, you can’t! Ella can make her ears move back and forth without moving anything else.
We saved the best for last. 8th grader Payton Johnson can do TWO mindblowing things!
Starting off, she can shake her eyes very quickly and noticeably. I wonder what that looks like for her? Imagine waving your hand back and forth as fast as you can; that’s what her eyes can do! Now, for her second hidden talent… she can sing the alphabet backwards! She doesn’t pause and hesitate; she can sing Z-A in a heartbeat! It must have taken a while to memorize that! Anyway, this girl may be the most talented in the school.
Turns out we have a very talented school! Do you have any hidden talents?
