Mission Statement

The mission of The Rough Rider is to serve as a thorough and unbiased reflection of the Roosevelt Intermediate School community. Since 1926, this paper has covered both our school environment and the Roosevelt community’s perspective on national and global events.  Students are experiencing the world of journalism for the first time; our goal is to inform, explore, and entertain in the most accurate fashion possible. We welcome any community input; please reach out to either journalism advisor, Matthew Kalafat or Denis McMorrow, for questions, counter points, and general feedback.  We appreciate the ongoing support of our community and look forward to carrying on this century-long tradition of student-led journalism.
