Have you ever thought about being in charge of your favorite sports team? If so, what would you do? Here are some of Roosevelt’s best responses to these questions.
Let’s say you were in charge of the New York Giants. What would you do? 8th-grader Jason Sporer says he would “cut Daniel Jones and sign literally any other QB,” clearly showing his displeasure with the current Giants Roster.
Jake Barshtak, another 8th grader, says, “since the Giants are already doing so badly, we might as well try to get a better draft pick, and definitely get a new QB.” As you can see, everyone is dissatisfied with the current Giants’s performance.
Sports analysts are saying that with the upcoming draft, the Giants have an opportunity to sign a generational running back. Ashton Jeanty, a 5,9 running back for Boise State, is having a historic running back season, and experts are calling him the next Adrian Peterson, according to Athlon Sports.
He is a swiss army knife at running back, and is able to break tackles, make quick cuts, and get receptions. He is expected to go in the mid to high first round, but definitely has room to fall in the draft, as he is a running back, according to Athlon Sports.
This is definitely an option for the Giants next season, because with Daniel Jones already on an expensive contract, there is no point in adding more money to the QB room, according to Athlon Sports.
Next, what would you do as the Yankees General Manager? 7th-grader Zachary Gonzelez says he would “sign Juan Soto.” Zachary is clearly showing that if the Yankees don’t get Juan Soto, it could be bad for the Yankees. He also said, “we could get Christian Walker in place of Anthony Rizzo.” This proves that the Yankees need to find a replacement for Rizzo.
Analysts agree with his statements saying that, “Christian Walker would not only guarantee themselves better production at the plate, but defensively as well.” Showing that it would be extremely beneficial for the Yankees to pick up Christian Walker, according to Heavy.com.
Now, let’s say you were in charge of one of the statistically worst teams in the NFL right now, the Carolina Panthers. What would you do? 7th-grader Ryan Dedman says he would “get rid of Bryce Young and replace him with a better quarterback that fits the roster and doesn’t struggle like Bryce Young does. Also, flunk this season to be able to get a good draft pick.”
One way the Panthers are trying to fix this is by using some seasons to rebuild. The Charlotte Observer says “Then comes another rebuilding process for the Panthers from January through August 2024, with a new head coach, a new staff and a slew of new playmakers but with Bryce Young still entrenched at quarterback.”
These are only some people’s ideas but, the real question is what you would do as a team manager? Who would you sign or who would you trade? How would you change the team?
