
As the eighth-grade year at Roosevelt comes to a close, students are looking back on all the fun memories they’ve made. From school-sponsored field trips to football games and time spent with friends, the past 3 years have been full of exciting moments. With fewer end-of-day bells left, 8th graders are starting to reflect on their three years at Roosevelt. They’ve grown, made new friends, and created lasting memories. As they prepare to move on, many are proud to say Roosevelt will always be a part of their story
Sra. Suchy- “My favorite memory is seeing the 8th graders come in as 6th graders and watching them turn into confident 8th graders.”
Mrs. Scheuerer- “My favorite 8th grade memory was taking the 8th graders on the stem trip to Kennedy Space Center.”
Mr. Heard- “Towards the end of the year we have a REC unit where I get to see everybody compete and socialize about summer plans and things they’re looking forward to.”
Mr. Gerkens- “It was really nice to play silent speedball with all of my classes after NJSLA testing because the kids got really into it, it was competitive, and it was fun seeing boys and girls competing in a sport that was fair for both. It was really fun playing.”
Mrs. Cassidy- “I know I haven’t been here for too long, so I’m still getting to know 8th graders but it has been fun seeing the year wrap up with everyone and watching these talented kids make all different art that represents themselves.”
Mrs. Aguirre- “As my first year here at Roosevelt and teaching DLTC my favorite memory was when I brought Colombian empanadas for my whole class and got to watch them connect the lesson of Colombia with food, They had a blast.”
Mr. Kalafat- “I like playing with 8th graders at lunch and seeing them get to be kids again. I would throw the football with them, throw the frisbee, crack jokes, and it’s just fun hanging out with them at lunch.”
Mrs. Gilford- “My favorite memory with my 8th graders was playing pictionary right before the holiday break with all my 8th grade classes.”
Kierstin Oakes– “One of my favorite memories this year was watching the Harriet Tubman movie in social studies class because I thought it was very educational and entertaining.”
Morgan Eckenthal and Bella Youngquist– “We loved it when we had our field hockey game and Mrs. Scheuerer came.”
Evan McDonald- “My favorite 8th grade memory was FAD day because I got to see all of my friends perform or cheer on other people I knew.”
Brooke Naznitsky- “My favorite memory was when we had NJSLA because when we were done we were able to play games with each other.”
Kamourah Williams- “Acting out Romeo and Juliet in our language arts class and seeing my friends overcome intense scenes and emotion.”
Abby Dewey- “My favorite memory is when teachers come to my sports events because it’s fun to see them outside of school”.
Hannah Gillespie– “My favorite memory is getting interviewed by journalism throughout the year and being able to read new stories in the newspaper and online.”
Ava Holowka- My favorite 8th grade memory was when we played silent speed ball with Mr. Gerkens.”
Caitlin Gaeta- “My favorite memory was going outside for the whole day during NJSLA.”
Tina Cardenas- “My favorite memory was the trip for sharps and flats to Dorney Park.”
Kaitlyn Bronstein- “My favorite memory was gym class because I like exercise and my teacher was fun.”
Vera Vuoso- “I think that the Europe trip and the STEM trip were really fun this year and I made a lot of good memories.”
Delia Balakhan- “My favorite memory was FAD day because it was a really fun time getting to MC and see all the acts.”
Elena Walsh- “My favorite 8th grade memory was the Europe trip.”
Joseph Raths- “My favorite memory was the Dorney trip.”
Jake Ades- “My favorite part of 8th grade was the kids V.S. teacher’s basketball game.”
Erik Kapuchinshki- “My favorite part of 8th grade was being a part of ramble.”
Jules Regan- “My favorite 8th grade memory was probably sitting on the stump in gym class with my friends when we go outside.”
